Anndutikeswar Self Help Group's story

AnnDutikeswar Self Help Group has 10 members who are all from the same neighbourhood. The lady standing in the middle wearing a blue saree in the photo is Shanti, the leader of the group. Shanti is a 33-year-old married woman from Odagaon village of Odisha, India. The couple has two children who are schooling. Shanti lives with her children and, together with her husband, takes care of all the household expenses.

For past five years she has been involved in the activity of growing and selling vegetables; her husband and her parents help her in this activity. All other members of this group are engaged other different kinds of activities like agriculture, cattle farming, etc. In order to strengthen the business and respond to customer demand, Shanti, together with her group AnnDutikeswar Self Help Group, has requested a loan amount of 250,000 INR for purchasing seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Their goal is to expand their business activity.
