A loan of $275 helped to buy wire.

Karen Yessenia's story

Karen is a young 19-year-old living in the city of Imperial. Because of her limited economic resources she was only able to complete fifth grade of secondary school because she had to go to work to support her family. Day to day Karen works as a waitress in a chicken shop in her city. Karen believes she’s getting ahead because she’s very responsible and above all because she very much wants to make progress.

Karen’s very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given her she will be able to buy supplies needed to make cages (wire) because she’s started a business raising and selling ducks. In this way, she’ll have extra income and will be able to continue striving to make her greatest dream reality: to support her family and have a university career.
