A loan of $500 helped to buy farming supplies to tend to her coffee plants.

Santos Otilia's story

Santos is 39 years old. She is a stay-at-home mother who farms while taking care of her six school-aged children. Santos is separated from her husband and lives with her children. Together, Santos and her children take care of her crops. They help her with trimming, cleaning, and fertilizing them. Santos was only able to study through second grade because her parents could not afford to send her to school. Santos grows her crops right next to her home. She is requesting this loan from the cooperative COMIXMUL in order to buy fertilizers, compost, and other supplies. She hopes to turn her land into an excellent planting space so that each harvest will be of good quality. Santos' dream is to provide her children with a good education and, in this way, offer them a better future.
