A loan of $400 helped to purchase merchandise, such as a variety of clothing for children, women, and men, to increase her inventory.

Engracia's story

Engracia, a married woman with three adult children, comes from a municipality in Chinandega, in the western part of the country. She sells merchandise such as clothing for adults, children, and women. She makes her sales as a street vendor and also takes orders. She purchases her goods at wholesale markets in cash, and her sales are in cash or credit for regular and occasional customers as well as for orders.

Engracia started her business six years ago after she retired, and it is an alternative source of income for her household. This loan will be used as capital for the purchase of merchandise such as clothing for children, men, and women, among other products.
