A loan of $375 helped to buy organic manure.

Pamela's story

Pamela, 22, is a hardworking woman. She lives with her daughter in her parents’ house. Like all good single, young mothers she has many ambitions. One of them is to complete her nursing studies. “I want to become a professional and to be able to teach my daughter everything needed so she can be successful in life,” she affirms. She puts in quite an effort because work, school and caring for her daughter does not leave her much free time left but this doesn’t bother her because she knows that she’ll be rewarded soon.

Her main source of income is raising animals like cows, guinea pigs, pigs and chickens. She herself grows the grasses they will eat so that their feeding will be good; she also buys nutritionally balanced feed. This helps her to have good animals that she sells at good prices to merchants that come by her house every weekend. Pamela will use the 1,000 soles to buy organic manure to nourish her alfalfa crops that she uses as animal feed.
