A loan of $375 helped to buy varied clothes.

Rocio's story

Rocío, 23, is a young mother. She lives with her husband and two children in her in-laws’ house. Since two years ago when she formed her family she decided to go into the business of buying and selling varied clothes in the towns farthest from the zone. She comments that she does very well because in all this time she’s won over many honest customers who pay Rocío what they own her promptly and completely every weekend. “I sell my items of clothing on credit and I go out collecting payment every weekend; sometimes I’m asked to break it down monthly that is into four weekly payments or many of them pay cash,” she comments.

Now, she wants to improve her income to be able to open a small tent in the street market that takes place twice weekly in the city where she hopes to increase her income and improve her working capital so she can bring more clothes of all grades and prices.

This is her first Kiva loan and she’s grateful for the support provided because she’ll be able to make business progress this way and improve her income. She promises to be punctual with her payments. Rocío will use the 1,000 soles to buy varied clothes to sell because she says she has many pending orders.
