A loan of $1,250 helped to buy farming supplies for her coffee plantations.

Ana Francisca's story

Ana Francisca is a 45-year old woman, mother of four children, housewife and farmer. Together with her husband, she makes a living from cultivating corn, beans and coffee. Her three older children attend primary school in different grades and help with the crops through several activities, such as cleaning, fertilizing and cutting the product. She has a lot of experience with over 21 years of working in cultivation. It was her parents who taught her this profession and family tradition. Thanks to her job, she can cover household expenses, such as food, clothing and medicines. The land where they cultivate is theirs and is located 3km away from their house. They go to work daily on foot or by horse.

She's requesting a loan to the cooperative COMIXMUL to buy fertilizers, urea, foliar feed and herbicides, among others, to keep the product safe and free of plagues.

Her goal is to increase and improve her plantations, and to make them more technical. This would make their product look more attractive for clients. Her dream is to see her children graduating from college and for them and their families to have better living conditions.
