Mariama's Group's story

This group is made up of women who are from the same neighborhood and have family ties. The both work in small-scale commerce.

Mariama (seated on the left with her hand raised [in the photo]) is the representative of the group. She is 28 years old, single, and has no children. Nevertheless, she is a woman very focused on her commercial business and takes seriously her responsibilities.

Her business involves buying dyed and embroidered fabrics from the outer region and reselling it, payable in two installments. With this loan, she plans to buy four lots of 30 yard Bazin fabric and 20 pieces of cut embroidered fabric which cost 25,000 francs CFA per lot to dye.

Part of her earnings will allow her to help her retired father support the family. The other part will be used to increase her savings in order to buy some land.

In this group: Mariama, Diallo
