A loan of $2,300 helped to buy more merchandise for his business, such as rice, sugar, cereals, soft drinks, and candy.

Sadiq's story

Sadiq is 34 years old and a married man with 2 children. Seven years ago, he opened a food store in his home because he needed to take care of his children. That is how he started his business. Currently, he enjoys running the business because he likes interacting with his customers. Sadiq also bought a refrigerator to begin selling cold drinks, such as soda pop, which are in high demand because he lives in a tropical zone. Every morning he opens his business very early and offers his customers products such as rice, sugar, cereal, canned goods, and noodles. One of Sadiq's principal long-term goals is to improve his dwelling and build it with bricks and cement in order to improve his store. He will use the loan of 1800 Azerbaijani manats (AZN) to purchase merchandise for his business, such as rice, sugar, cereals, soft drinks, and candy. This is his sixth loan with Kiva, and he is committed to making his payments responsibly.
