A loan of $775 helped to buy retail stock for his clothing sales business.

Ronald's story

Ronald is a married man, age 38, with five children who are 7, 5, 3 and twins who are 6 months old. He lives on the outskirts of Kyotera Town with his family. He describes himself as a trustworthy and hardworking man.

Ronald is a businessman who sells new clothes. He works seven days a week, and each day he works for 12 hours. He sells his products to residents in a rural setting. He also supplements his income with money he earns from a fish mongering business. This is his second loan. The first loan he acquired of 1,000,000 Ugandan shillings was added to his business helping him to purchase desired goods at the market. Due to this, he earned some more income and was able to buy a plot in his trading centre.

Ronald has been in the business of selling clothes since 2009. He started with the aim of earning money to pay school fees for his children. Apparently he is hard up, since only a few people are buying clothes. He has therefore applied for a loan in order to buy new and attractive stock for his business in order to improve his sales. His dream is to build a modern house on the plot he has recently purchased.
