Zahra is a 39-year-old single woman, who has been working in a Laundry business for two years. Her Laundry service is located in a very good commercial zone. She is well known in her region, with a good reputation and special talents in her domain. It is her only source for living, that's why she has to keep on developing it as much as she can.

Zahra is applying for a loan from Kiva partner Al Majmoua, in order to pay what's left on a loan for her business machines and to buy a new developed one. Her business is going well, but not to the extent that she can pay everything she owes at the same time.

Zahra hopes that through future loans, she might move her shop to a wider one and hire employees to help her with the increasing number of requests she is accepting.

About Al Majmoua – Lebanese Association for Development

The Lebanese Association for Development – Al Majmoua is Lebanon’s leading microfinance institution and the oldest Kiva partner in Lebanon. Al Majmoua’s vision is to “be the leader in creating an inclusive financial system where all people in Lebanon have access to affordable services.” Given Lebanon's diverse population, Al Majmoua lends to all nationalities, provided legal residency. The strong financial position achieved to date has allowed Al Majmoua to steadily lower its pricing over the years.

Based on the belief that non-financial services play a complementary role in improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable entrepreneurs, Al Majmoua has established a solid Business Development Services program for both borrowers and non-borrowers with a focus on women and youth.
