A loan of $3,600 helped a member to buy more garment to sell.

Bitractor Group's story

Deborah, a member of Bitractor Group, is a single mother of four who lives in Nansana, a Kampala City suburb. She deals in garments of different designs. She looks at her children’s education as her major priority since she does not have any other inheritance to distribute to them later in their lifetime. She believes that with education they will be able to fend for themselves.

She has now applied for a loan of 1,000,000 UGX to buy better and unique garments to meet the changing tastes and preferences of her customers. This will enable her to be more competitive in the market. Deborah is grateful to Ugafode for having funded her through the group even when she had no collateral, which is unlike other institutions. She is pledging that she and the group members will pay well to maintain the partnership.
