A loan of $500 helped to buy more husk-rice to hold in stock and sell later at a better price.

Ranty's story

Mrs. Ranty L. lives in Kraing Khmer Village in Kampong Chhnang Province. She is 44 years old and the mother of five children, three of whom are attending school while the others are too young to work or study. She buys rice in bulk which she later sells at a better price.

Since her business is going well, Mrs. Ranty L. has decided to ask for a loan to buy more husk-rice to keep in stock. Her husband, Mr. Saveuorn Nhoeb, rears pigs in the local village. Mrs. Ranty L. obtained a previous loan from AMK to buy piglets for her husband's business and she fully repaid that loan. Mrs. Ranty L. and her husband are shown in the picture.
