A loan of $1,425 helped to buy supplies.

Adela María's story

The Amistad communal bank meets every 15 days in the city of Tosagua. This place is known for being very dynamic, where a majority of the habitants work in agriculture or by raising cattle. The area has a lot of vegetation.

Maria, 56, lives here. She is in a civil union and has one adult child who lives independently. Her husband is a vendor.

Maria and her husband work by making lunches and sandwiches. He is in charge of gong out and delivering or selling in the area. She also makes lunches for various institutions and in the afternoons she makes cupcakes and plantain empanadas with cheese, meat, or chicken, which are very delicious. They have had this business for over 20 years and it allows them to move forward.

This loan will be used to buy supplies for making meals. She has been part of the communal bank for 15 years and she likes the help they provide with the loans.

Her dream is for her and her husband to be healthy.
