A loan of $775 helped purchase lubricants and parts.

Carlos Alexander's story

The Amistad communal bank meets every two weeks s in the city of Tosagua. This place is known for being very dynamic, where a majority of the inhabitants work in agriculture or by raising animals. It is an area with a lot of vegetation.

Carlos lives in this area. He is 21 years old. He is single and he lives in his parents’ house. This is his third cycle with the communal bank. He likes the bank because with the support, he can create a better future.

Carlos works in a repair shop that his father has had for more than 20 years. He learned the profession which allows him to move forward with the results of his work. They repair water pumps and agricultural equipment. The work is very hard since many customers come daily to request assistance now. They also sell parts and lubricants that are used by the equipment in order to run well. They also do services at homes which allow them to earn a lot more.

This loan will be used to purchase lubricants and various parts that they use in their work.

His dream is to have his own repair shop.
