A loan of $750 helped to purchase supplies to protect her coffee crops.

Sara's story

Sara is a 33-year-old married woman with three children who are in different grades of elementary school. Sara was only able to study up to grade 5 because her parents' income was very low and they were not able to keep supporting her, but she is grateful for their hard work. Her family is very humble but hard-working. Her parents taught her to work the land at a very young age, and they handed down a plot of land to her so that she could plant coffee, corn, and beans and obtain an income for her family. The land that her parents left her is located three kilometres from her home, and she travels there on foot every day.
She has now requested a loan from COMIXMUL for the purchase of manure, fertilizer, and other items to prevent her crops from being damaged by pests and other plagues that will spoil entire plantations if not treated in time.
Sara dreams of being the greatest coffee producer in the area with a well-outfitted and fertile plot of land. This way, she will be able to support her children with their studies, their dreams, their goals, and other basic necessities such as food, clothing, and medicine. There are many restrictions on them every day.
