Elizabeth Abigail's story

Elizabeth Abigail, 31 years old, is married with three young children. She is from one of the municipalities of Chinandega located in the western part of the country. Elizabeth is characterized as being a hard-working and responsible woman with a desire for personal development. In her free time she likes to enjoy her family, being with her husband and children preparing delicious traditional food for them from that area like “gallo pinto” (rice and beans) and soup, among other things. Due to a lack of economic resources she didn’t manage to finish her studies. As she comes from a humble family of few economic resources, she saw the need to work from a very young age to help with the household expenses.

Thanks to her spirit for overcoming and getting ahead she started her own business with her own funds as an alternative form of work to support with the income the expenses of her new home. The work consists of selling merchandise in general such as new clothing for ladies, gentlemen and children as well as cosmetics, among other things, as a traveling vendor and in her home to regular and occasional customers. She makes her purchases in cash in wholesale markets. She dedicates some 9 hours a day to her business. The objective of this loan is to invest in working capital and to stock her business in the buying and selling of merchandise in general and thus to obtain a little more income for her household.
