In Nepal, the meat is always fresh. In small stalls along busy roads, open-air butcher shops sell chicken, goat and water buffalo by the kilo. The stalls are piled high with product, and sales are brisk. With the help of a Kiva loan, BPW's borrowers are able to purchase additional stock at better prices. This increase in purchasing volume creates greater profit margins for the borrower.
