A loan of $1,900 helped a member to increase the inventory of the grocery by buying more beers, juice and spirits to meet the customers' demands.


Sisi Kwa Sisi Group's story

Regina, who is in her mid 30s, is married with one child who goes to school. She runs a grocery business and also has a small shop. She has been in the grocery business for two years now and has opened her small shop just recently. She works fro 8.00 am to 9.30 pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be Regina's third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to open a small shop with things like bar soap, powdered soap, cooking oil, blue band, candles, macron, salt and sweets. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to contribute to buying food. She will use this loan to increase the inventory of her grocery by buying more beers, juice and spirits to meet the customers' demands. She dreams of renovating the business premises.

Regina will share this loan with her loan group "Sisi kwa Sisi" with nine members. The member of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
