A loan of $825 helped a member to purchase rexine (artificial leather) for making bags.

Rubina's Group's story

Rubina lives in Lahore, Pakistan with her family which consists of her husband and their six children. She is a housewife while her husband is a tailor by profession. He stitches a variety of bags and sells them in the market. This is the only source of income for his family. Her husband needs to purchase rexine (artificial leather) for making bags but, due to a lack of funds, finds it difficult. Therefore, as a member of a two-person lending group, Rubina has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase rexine for her husband's work. She hopes that with the anticipated profits, she will purchase an auto rickshaw for her son so that he can generate income, too. Rubina is feeling very happy and thankful to Kiva lenders.
