A loan of $725 helped to purchase merchandise for her store, such as rice and sugar, among other items.

Primitiva's story

Primitiva is 24 years old and a single mother. She lives with her daughter in her own house, made of wood. Three years ago, she opened a food store in her home because she needed to take care of her small daughter. That is how she started this business. Currently she enjoys running the business because she likes interacting with her customers.

Primitiva also bought a refrigerator to begin selling cold drinks, such as soda pop, which are in high demand because she lives in a tropical zone. Each morning she opens her business very early and offers her customers products like rice, sugar, cereal, canned goods and noodles, among other items.

One of her principal long term goals is to improve her dwelling and build it with bricks and cement in order to improve her store. This is her second loan with Kiva and she is committed to making her payments responsibly. With the sum of S/. 2,000 she will purchase merchandise for her business, such as bags of rice, sugar, cereals and boxes of soft drinks and candy.
