Beatrice's story

Beatrice is 34 years old, married and lives in Gbarnga in Liberia. Gbarnga is located in the centre of Liberia in Bong County. The majority of the people are employed as farmers, cultivating crops such as rice, palm oil, and cassava.

Beatrice went to school and finished grade 12. Her husband is a teacher, and she has a nine-year-old child at home who goes to school.

She has had a table business for the past four years, selling rice, oil, pepper, etc. She works at her business nine hours a day, and she transports her goods to her business by bus. The biggest challenge she faces in her business is insufficient inventory on her table.

With the proceeds from the loan, she wants to buy rice, oil, pepper, etc. She describes herself as a hardworking woman; she started her business with money from her mother. She is proud of her business because she gets money for her expenses.

In the future, Beatrice wants to own a house.
