A loan of $350 helped buy flour, beans, peanuts, rice, oil and wheat to sell from her stall.

Filomena's story

Filomena is 50 years old, married and has 7 children. She lives with 4 of her children who are of school-going age and the other 2 are independent. She also supports her father by sending money to Magunde where he lives.

Filomena and her husband have been traders for more than 10 years and have a stall in their back yard. This loan will be used to buy flour, beans, peanuts, rice, oil and wheat to sell from their stall.

Filomena hopes to evolve her business and start selling wholesale (she currently sells retail). Her biggest challenge is to build a real commercial establishment at her home instead of just having a stall.
