Tina's story

Tina is a 36-year-old business woman from Liberia. She is married and has a 16-year-old child who is currently attending school and lives at home. She completed 7th grade before starting her business. She describes herself as hardworking.

She lives and works in Gbarnga, the capital city of Bong County. Bong is located in the centre of the country and is an agricultural hub. The majority of residents are farmers growing rice, palm oil and cassava.

Tina has a cook shop business and has sold rice and soup along with drinks for the past five years now. She works 10 hours at her business. Her greatest challenge in business is less income. She intends to use the loan to buy more rice, pepper, onions, fish, meat, drinks, etc. She started her business by selling to her friends. She likes her business because she makes more money. She hopes to one day own a house.
