Messie

A loan of $350 helped to buy more fish, oil, rice, pepper, vita, onions, etc. for her business.

Messie's story

Messie is a 32-year-old business woman from Liberia. She is married and has two children, ages 5 and 1. Only one of them is currently attending school, and they all live at home. She has completed grade 9 before starting her business. She describes herself as hardworking.

She lives and works in Gbarnga, the capital City of Bong County. Bong is located in the center of the country and is an agricultural hub. The majority of residents are farmers growing rice, palm oil and cassava.

Messie has a cook shop business, where she has sold rice and soup for the past two years. She works from 7 am to 5 pm each day at her business.

Her greatest challenge in the business is her small amount of capital. She intends to use the loan to buy more fish, oil, rice, pepper, vita, onions, etc. for her business. She started her business by selling for her mother. She likes her business because she gets money from her business for her personal use. She hopes to one day own a house.

She wants to thank the Kiva lenders in advance for their help.
