Gorpu

A loan of $350 helped to buy more snapper, plantain and oil for her business.

Gorpu's story

Gorpu, a 28-year-old business woman from Liberia, is married and has two children, one four years old and attending school, and one nine months old. Gorpu completed grade eight before starting her business. She describes herself as hardworking.

Gorpu lives and works in Gbarnga, the capital City of Bong County, an agricultural hub located in the centre of the country. The majority of residents are farmers growing rice, palm oil and cassava.

For the past five years Gorpu has been selling roasted fish and fried plantains, working from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. everyday. Her greatest challenge is limited capital. She intends to use this loan to buy more snapper, plantain and oil for her business.

Gorpu hopes to one day own a house. She wants to thank Kiva lenders in advance for their help.
