Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso / Renewable Energy Products

A loan of $700 helped to buy ten energy efficient stoves, five gas stoves and 14 solar lamps for resale.

Korotoumou's story

Married with five children all in school, Korotoumou is a woman who has been running her business of processing local grain for the past 20 years. In addition to processing grain, she also sells kitchen utensils and pagnes (traditional West African dyed cloth) to earn more income in order to contribute to her family's expenses.

Mindful of the need to protect the environment and also the needs of her co-wives, Korotoumou decided to partner with Nafa Naana in order to sell products such as energy efficient stoves, gas stoves and solar lamps. However, she faces financial hardship that limits her ability to purchase a supply of products for resale. With this loan, Korotoumou will be able to buy ten energy efficient stoves, five gas stoves and 14 solar lamps that she will resell to earn revenue.

This income will serve to help her business grow. Korotoumou dreams of achieving financial autonomy through the expansion of her business in Sector 5 of Ouagadougou, where she resides and runs her business.
