A loan of $1,250 helped to buy fertilizers, compost and foliar fertilizers for her coffee crops.

Estelina's story

Estelina is 32 years old and the mother of three children. For financial reasons, Estelina's family were unable to support her and she was only able to study up to the second year of her primary education. From an early age, her parents taught her to carry out activities such as looking after the house, farming (growing coffee) and selling bananas, plantains and other fruit. Estelina and her partner have three sons. Their eldest is 16 years old and in the third year of his secondary education. Their middle son is 13 and not in school. Their youngest is 3 years old. Estelina, her partner and their two eldest sons work weeding, pruning, fertilizing and harvesting their crops. They also sell bananas, plantains and other fruit. They inherited the land on which they grow their crops.

Estelina has requested a loan from COMIXMUL to invest in buying fertilizers, compost and foliar fertilizers for her coffee crops.

Estelina dreams of seeing her children enjoy better living conditions and a stronger inheritance. She hopes to see them able to successfully face difficult financial situations by receiving an education. She also hopes to buy more land on which to grow coffee.
