Rocio's story

Rocío is 21 years old and lives at her parents' house with her mother and six siblings, whom she loves and appreciates. This skilled young woman has a good future ahead of her. She is studying at the local art school, learning to paint beautiful pictures. Rocío has art in her blood, with the whole family working with artisan products. Rocío tells us that she has two years left before she finishes her studies but she is already producing wonderful oil paintings, which she sells at a very good price. In addition, Rocío makes fancy dress costumes, skirts and tablecloths. She has had her business for two years and assures us that it is going very well, as she is receiving more and more orders every day. She now wants to work very hard in order to expand her business and save up the necessary money to study cooking, another of her dreams. This will be Rocío's fourth loan with Kiva and she is very grateful for the support she is being given. She promises to make her repayments on time. Rocío will invest the 1500 Nuevo Soles in buying material, coloured threads, blond lace and wool of varying colours for her work.
