A loan of $1,075 helped to sow a plot of land with corn to begin a new planting season.

Ramon's story

Ramón is 62 years old, married and lives in his own home with his wife. He makes a living in farming - planting, harvesting and selling his products. Ramón also has other sources of income like raising and selling poultry and pigs. For the past five years he has grown coffee, which he hopes to harvest in the coming months. When he started out he had a lot of problems, but thanks to his hard work and dedication he was able to make headway for his family, and now he has a stable job that helps him improve his quality of life and his income. This is his first loan with Kiva, and he is very grateful for the economic support, which will give him working capital to use on his crops. He promises to make his payments on time. He plans to use the loan to sow a hectare of land with corn to begin a new planting season.
