Stella's story

Stella is a young and nice lady; she is 31 years old and the only bread-winner in her big family. Stella lives in the village of Tsovazard, which is in Gegharkunik region. She lives with her husband, their small daughter, and her parents-in-law, who are retired. Stella has a higher education; she has graduated from Gavar State University. Now she works at their village municipality, as a computer operator. Stella is also engaged in farming and agriculture, in which her husband helps her. They keep three cows, three calves, ten sheep, ten lambs, and ten chickens. They also have a plot of land, where they cultivate beans, tomatoes and greens, and they have several apple trees. Most of these they use for family consumption, and the only produce from their land that they manage to sell is apples.

This is Stella’s first deal with Kiva and Nor Horizon. She asks a loan of 500,000 Armenian drams, which she will use to buy one cow, two piglets, and a lot of animal fodder. She hopes that this loan will help her to improve her family's living conditions, significantly.
