Tiessiri Vi Group's story

The seven members of the group "TIESSIRI VI" are married women averaging 36 years of age and three children each. The women live for the most part in polygamous families in Kenikela, a village in Commune de Massigui, in Préfecture de Dioîla, Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso with the goal of organizing their work better at the start of the rainy season. The crops grown include peanuts, rice, and some millet. The women are in their seventh collaboration with the institution.

With this loan, METIE, who is sitting in the middle in the photo, intends to purchase farm inputs and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing for maintaining about 1 hectare of rice and peanuts.

After the harvest, the produce is sold in Massigui City to a customer base composed of men and women. She envisions making a profit of about 75,000 francs CFA per planting.
