Alberta's story

Even though Alberta grew up in poverty without an education, this has not stopped her from fulfilling her dream of achieving a better life for herself and her family. Currently, Alberta is an entrepreneur. She operates a local grocery store in Narkwa (near Cape Coast). Her business enterprise has grown substantially since she began two years ago. She uses the income from her business to help her husband raise their three children.

Alberta has identified that there is growing demand among consumers’ for her products. Nevertheless she is unable to meet their needs due to limited inventory capacity. Thus she aims to use her loan to purchase more groceries to sell. With the new profits from her expanded business, Alberta wants to buck the trend by ensuring that all her children will be given the opportunity to further distance their family from poverty.
