Karlen's story

Karlen is 47 years old and lives in the village of Tsovagyugh, which is in Gwgharkunik region of Armenia. Karlen is married and he has two sons. His elder son is engaged in fishing and very often he has a good catch for his family. His second son is still school-aged.

Karlen has a specialty of locksmith, but he has never worked in this specialty. He and his wife are engaged in farming and agriculture. No matter how hard they work, the income does not cover the needs of both their family and farm. They have a plot of land on which they cultivate vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes, and cucumbers) and they also have a trim farm where they keep four cows, two bulls, two calves, ten sheep, five lambs and ten chickens.

Karlen plans to cultivate a lot of potatoes, and he has requested a loan of 800,000 Armenian drams to buy potato seedling. He would also like to buy animal fodder. On this occasion Kiva comes to be the best and the only and trustful partner for them.
