Aminata's Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group of school teachers from the eastern city of Koidu. Together, they have come to SMT to apply for a loan of SLL 10,250,000. With the help of this loan, they are being financially empowered to meet their most immediate and most pressing financial needs. At the end of each month, they can easily repay, using their monthly salaries. It is their school's bursar whose duty it is to deduct their repayment amounts and repay SMT/Kiva lenders on their behalf.

Shar Musa is the featured leader of this team. A native of Masundu, in eastern Sierra Leone, he is married to a farmer and the couple has five children - two are attending primary school and three are in secondary school. Shar Musa has been a school teacher for 13 years now. He has requested this loan in order to pay school fees for his children.
