A loan of $275 helped to buy corn and firewood.

Maria Luisa's story

Maria Luisa is 41 years old and is from the city of Estelí. She makes a living from the business of tortillas and sells them in her neighborhood. She started this business when her children were small; she couldn't leave them home alone so she made a few tortillas that she sold. With little money she was then able to accomplish what has helped her to get ahead. Now her children are grown up and they help her with what they earn.

She is asking for this loan to buy corn and firewood. She has the future goal of improving the conditions of her house and the immediate goal of selling more tortillas to obtain earnings to pay off her loan and to repair the hygienic system in her house.
