A loan of $6,200 helped a member to buy red meats and chickens.

Miraflores De Challabamba Group's story

Juana María, 39, is separated from her spouse. She’s a responsible, kind person who supports her family. She lives in Challabamba District thirty minutes by highway from the main city of Paucartambo where she carried out her daily activities. She sells red meats, eggs and barnyard fowl. On this occasion she needs the loan to buy red meats and chickens.

A group of friends and neighbors formed the “MIraflores de Challabamba” communal bank in Challabamba District. This communal bank consists of several people who are always seeking opportunities to get ahead and with their daily effort to provide a better future for their children. The members work in agriculture, raising livestock, selling foodstuffs, fattening up cattle and raising small farm animals. In general, the members are grateful for the opportunity provided and commit to make their various installment payments as scheduled.

(The people in the photos inserted at the bottom asked permission to miss the meeting.) (Challabama District is in Paucartambo Province, Cusco Department.)
