Quaquso Group's story

Annie is the featured leader of this group of entrepreneurs. Annie was born in Sowa, in eastern Sierra Leone. She is married to a diamond miner and the couple have four children who are attending primary, secondary, and tertiary academic institutions. For ten years now, Annie has been selling market-food, such as tomatoes. This is the first loan that Annie and her group members have applied for from Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT)/Kiva lenders. With the help of this loan, they will be able to expand their respective businesses, make more sales, and consequently improve on their living conditions. Annie will use her share of the loan (SLL 500,000) to expand her business. She will use the money to buy tomatoes, etc., in bulk, to add to her current stocks.
