Tell God Tenki Group's story

In the photo are members of the “Tell God Tenki” group. They are small scale businesswomen based in Koidu, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. This is the first loan these entrepreneurs are accessing from SMT/Kiva lenders. With this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more profit, and consequently improve their standard of living.

The featured leader of this group is Mariama. Mariama is age 35. She was born in Kabala town but she is currently residing in Koidu together with her husband and 4 children. Her husband is a security guard and her children are attending primary and secondary schools, respectively.

For 6 years now, Mariama has been selling market food – tomatoes, etc. With this loan, she is going to buy a larger quantity of market foodstuffs to add to her current stock.
