A loan of $725 helped to do some home improvements and to buy a grill.

Dolores's story

Dolores is 42-years-old but has the joy and charisma of a 20-year-old. Dolores lives in the city of Camaná, city with beautiful scenery and a very diverse cuisine. One of its most famous dishes is the delicious “Chupe de Camarones” [Shrimp Chowder]. Dolores is the mother of two children who are 14 and 19 years of age who she loves very much and for whom she works hard and strives to provide them with a proper life and to be able to raise them since she’s a single mother.

With much effort and savings, Dolores managed to start her business selling ‘anticuchos’ [grilled meat kebabs] a few months ago. With the fruits of her labor she’s able to cover her household expenses. Dolores works about 5 hours because she mostly works at night. She believes she’s getting ahead because she’s very kind to customers and above all because she’s a very tasty cook.

Dolores is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve provided she will be able to do some home and some business improvements. She will buy a new grill to grill the anticuchos thus improving her family’s quality of life and be able to stay in business. She will continue striving to make her greatest dream reality: to provide her children with professions and to own a restaurant.
