Julia's story

Julia is 57 and lives with her partner, with whom she has six children. She lives in the city of Pilcopata and is a hardworking and enterprising person who works tremendously hard and makes sacrifices to provide for her family. Her main business is selling breakfasts, soft drinks, jellies and milk. She sells her delicious breakfasts every day from 5.30am until about 8.30am. She has been a member of the "Señor de Qoyllorrity de Pilopata" communal bank and, on this occasion, she is applying for a loan to buy supplies such as milk, apples, quinoa and sugar, amongst other things. (The city of Pilcopata is the capital of the district of Kosñipata in Paucartambo province. Paucartambo province lies within the department of Cusco, Peru).
