Silvia's story

Silvia is 45 and lives in the city of Pilcopata. She and her common-law husband have five children, three of whom still live with her. Silvia is very diligent and entrepreneurial, supporting her family through hard work and sacrifice. Her main business is selling food on the street: rich meals that she prepares daily from 6 a.m. until she's sold everything. Silvia has for several years belonged to the “Señor de Qoyllorrity de Pilcopata” ["Lord of Snow Star"] communal bank and is requesting this loan to pay for home repairs and the purchase of lamb and chicken meat, sacks of rice and sugar, and other goods.

(Pilcopata is the capital of Kosñipata District in Paucartambo Province in the Cusco, Peru Region).
