A loan of $550 helped to buy organic soil amendments.

Delia's story

Delia, 41, is married and lives in her own house with her husband and daughters.

Delia makes a living in agriculture. She goes with her husband very early to their farmland two hours from her town. She takes care of her banana, yuca, and corn crops every day. She has worked in agriculture her whole life. With their savings she and her husband bought a plot of land to increase their corn production. Thanks to their experience she can get ahead and get a good crop.

Delia devotes herself more to her home since she had her last daughter, her husband being the one who tends to the crops. Like an enterprising woman she has a small plot of land in part of her house where she started to grow some crops such as bananas, yuca, beans, and papaya, which she sells in the same town.

This is her first Kiva loan. She's grateful in advance for the economic support received and promises to be punctual with her payments.

She'll invest the amount of 1500 soles [PEN] in buying organic soil amendments for her corn crop.
