A loan of $5,450 helped to purchase cooking equipment, begin constructing his website and social media page, and to pay for advertising, vendor licensing fees, and food inventory.

Kendric's story

Although Kendric did not have much experience in the food industry, he didn’t allow that fact to hinder him from opening his mobile restaurant, Empty Bowl. Beginning in Katy, Texas, Kendric started his mobile pasta dish business less than six months ago with very little resources and serves surrounding cities.

To purchase necessary cooking equipment for his business, begin constructing his website and social media page, pay for advertising in print and online publications in Katy, cover vendor licensing fees at trade shows and food inventory, Kendric knew he would need financial assistance.

While researching business support websites, Kendric came across Accion Texas Inc. He inquired with Accion regarding a small business loan. Once Kendric followed through the loan application process he was approved for $5,450.

Kendric is now able to continue displaying his dishes at local trade shows and conventions around the Katy and Houston, Texas area. He plans to continue demonstrating his dishes at local events and build clientele to serve his pasta and spice up his business.
