A loan of $1,250 helped to buy fertilizer and manure and to weed his coffee plantation.

Marco Aurelio's story

Marco, 59, is married and has two children. He lives in a village in the Las Flores municipality, Lempira. He’s been working in agriculture for more than 20 years. He currently grows coffee on his home property. He sells his harvest to middle-men or to coffee cooperatives. He’s kept his crops well by means of loans and is currently asking for his third loan for 25,000 Lempiras that he’ll use to buy fertilizer and manure and for the weeding. His plan is to continue expanding his crop to obtain higher yields and income for his family.
