Mao is 36 years old and lives with his wife. Together they have two children ages 19 and 14 whom they love very much. They work very hard in order to bring a better quality of life for their children and give them more opportunities for a better future.
Each day Mao works in his small business, sharpening round saw blades. He works about nine hours a day. He believes his business in improving because he is friendly to his customers and because he really wants to progress.
Mao is very appreciative of the loans from KIVA and he is thankful for the support that they provide as he is able to buy construction materials such as wood, nails, corrugated panels and paint among other items. In this way he can improve the quality of life for his family. He can then reach his greatest dream, “to have a larger workshop and give his son a profession”.
