A loan of $1,350 helped to buy Lappa to increase her sales.

Fatumata's story

Please meet 44 year-old Fatumata from Paynesville North in Liberia. Paynesville North has the largest market in Montserrado County. The area is home to “round time marketers”, traders who travel to the interior to purchase various goods to sell throughout the county. As a result, there is a high concentration of wholesalers in the area who distribute to various markets around Montserrado County, including Monrovia.

Fatumata completed 6th grade and she is married. She describes herself as a working person. Her husband works with an importer of used cars in Monrovia. Fatumata has a shop which sells lappa (Traditional cloth mainly used by African women). She has been in business for 18 years and works 10 hours each day at her business. With this loan, she will buy Lappa to increase her sales. One of the greatest challenges that she faces is few goods in her shop. She transports her goods by bus. She started her business with money from her father. She is proud of her business because she makes more profits. Her plan is to own a house. She thanks you in advance for your support!
