A loan of $750 helped to buy 100 broiler chicks and five sacks of broiler mash.

Emily's story

Emily lives in Malindi and this is where she does agriculture. She does poultry farming, together with dairy farming on her farm. She has done this for more than eight years and she is happy with the business.

She now wants to buy 100 broiler chicks and five sacks of broiler mash. This is the reason for asking for this loan which will help her buy these items. On the same farm, she also plants vegetables and fruits, which she sells to the local market. She wants to supply 40-liters of milk to the town.

The challenges that Emily usually faces in the running of the business are competition and the technical difficulties that require government support which, at times, is difficult to find. The income that she raises from the business is used to pay children's school fees and to improve the standard of living of her family.
