Renacer are starting their first loan cycle within the Women's Committee program. Some former members came together again as a group so that they could continue working with the foundation and they are re-starting their loan cycles from zero. They are taking part in the 'Poverty Stoplight' survey and, through their continual hard work and effort, and by applying the right behavior, they are improving their situation.

One of the members of this group is Fatima, who sells perfume and different fragrances for both men and women. She says that she has a good number of customers because she sells good products at low prices. Thanks to this work, she is able to give her family everything they need.

Fatima is requesting this loan to invest in buying perfumes and fragrances so that she can continue giving her customers what they ask for.

Renacer está en su ciclo número uno del programa de comité de mujeres, ya que volvieron a juntarse las integrantes antiguas para seguir trabajando con la fundación y están reiniciando de cero los ciclos. Están haciendo la encuesta de eliminación de pobreza, donde a través del esfuerzo y el trabajo continuo y las aplicaciones de los comportamientos vitales se encuentran mejorando su situación de pobreza.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of the innovative “Poverty Stoplight” program developed by Fundación Paraguaya for women living in poverty. A “stoplight” measurement tool is used to help borrowers self-identify the type of poverty that affects them most (lack of income, dearth of financial opportunities, poor living conditions etc.). Borrowers rate 50 areas of their life as green (not poor), yellow (poor) or red (extremely poor). Together with their loan officer, they come up with a plan to resolve yellow and red indicators. Through this program, Fundación Paraguaya hopes to lift 9,000 women and their families out of poverty by 2017.
