A loan of $850 helped to buy food cart.

Cynthia Consuelo's story

Cynthia, 22, is single living in the city of Ica, Parcona District, with her parents and siblings. She’s a very kind, hardworking, enthusiastic person with a strong drive towards self-improvement. Unfortunately, due to the lack of economic resources and the need to start work, Cynthia hasn’t been able to study Business Administration like she’d like to. In her free time she enjoys relaxing listening to music and on occasion cooks a delicious pork stew with noodles to share with her family.

On her own initiative and with much effort and dedication, Cynthia works as a field hand on a large agricultural estate in her city; she does planting, irrigation, harvesting and other chores. She works every day for about 10 hours and thinks she does well because of the good way she works and the kind way she treats others.

Cynthia is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the support provided she will be able to buy a fast-food cart that she’ll use to sell fast-food like hamburgers, ‘salchipapas’ [fried sausages with fried potatoes], Broaster-style chicken and others in order to have a bit more income to rely on that she’ll save up to reach her dream of owning a grocery store.
